Advanced Condition Monitoring and Protection System that records and evaluates vibration signals for high- and low-consistency refiners and rotating machine elements including motors and gear units.
The AdvaCon (Advanced Condition Monitoring and Protection System) is a specialized vibration monitoring and protection solution designed for the demanding conditions of industrial refining and rotating machinery environments. By continuously recording and evaluating vibration signals from acceleration sensors mounted on equipment housings, AdvaCon provides real-time insight into the mechanical condition of critical plant assets — enabling proactive maintenance, protecting equipment from damage, and reducing unplanned downtime.
The primary application of AdvaCon is status monitoring of high-consistency (HC) and low-consistency (LC) refiners — some of the most mechanically demanding machines in pulp processing. AdvaCon monitors refiner plate condition and bearing integrity during operation without requiring process interruption, identifying wear patterns and abnormal vibration signatures before they escalate into failures. Beyond refining applications, AdvaCon extends its monitoring capability to other rotating machine elements including motors, gear units, and associated mechanical components, making it a versatile asset health platform across the mill.
